Obituary of Noel Antonio Joseph Bruneau
Please share a memory of Noel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Noel Antonio Joseph Bruneau December 20, 1940 – May 14, 2022 We are saddened to announce the great loss of our husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend Noel Bruneau who passed away at home on May 14, 2022, at the age of 81 years. Noel was born in Girouxville, Alberta on December 20, 1940 to Louis and Gabrielle Bruneau. When Noel met Jean, it was an instant love. She truly was his first love… with his logging career coming close to second. Noel worked at Blue Ridge Lumber for over 25 years. He was known as an amazing, hard-working man. Noel was also a very family-oriented person and loved his family. He was blessed with three beautiful granddaughters and loved every minute he spent with them. He took pride in being the head of the family and was an astonishing caretaker and provider. If you ever had the pleasure of visiting Noel and Jeans’ home, you would see the pride Noel took in his gardening, in particular his tomato plants. He loved planting different types of trees such as cherry, birch, apple, plum, saskatoon, crab apple, lilac and ash. Many friends and neighbours will miss the “snow angel of Wagoner Crescent” as Noel was an outstanding person who was always there to lend a helping hand. From volunteering in the community by offering rides for seniors to helping others mow their lawns, Noel was a truly caring and reliable person. He loved automobile mechanics and helped many, many people with their vehicles. He also taught himself how to cook and bake. He enjoyed spending time canning with his wife. Many people would say that when speaking with him, you instantly felt a comforting connection. The town has truly suffered a great loss with his departing. Noel is survived by his wife Jean of 56 years, children; Marilyn Bruneau and Mikeal (Shauna) Bruneau, grandchildren; Jessika, Mikayla (Kevin Levasseur) and Madison, siblings; Murielle Bruneau, Helen Gervais, Joyce (Brian) Currel, Yvette Bruneau, Norman Bruneau and Leo (Lena) Bruneau as well as his furry companion Lady. He is now rejoined with his daughter Jacqueline Bruneau, infant brother Yvon Bruneau and sister Denise Guzak. A celebration of life will be held in the fall with a date being announced at a later date. The family would like to express their most heartfelt thank you to all the emergency service workers, Whitecourt RCMP, Victim Services, Dr. Kulak, nurses and staff at the Whitecourt Healthcare Centre and Affinity Funeral Service for all the kindness, care and compassion that has been shown towards the family previously and throughout these difficult times.
