It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jacob Jaylen Douglas, at the age of 23 years. Jacob was a light to so many people, as he accepted and welcomed those in his life to come as they were. He allowed others to be themselves and was a loyal friend who stood up for those who could not stand up for themselves. While Jacob’s time with us was short, his impact on those he loved and cared for will live on in our hearts and memories forever. Jacob loved to be outside, taking any opportunity to enjoy nature, and could almost always be found with his skateboard or his bike. Jacob loved to travel and made many fond memories on a family trip to Portugal. Jacob adored animals and was passionate about their care.
Jacob will be deeply missed by his loving parents; Mother Julie Ayotte, Father Allen Douglas; Siblings Dillon (Natasha), Tyson (Demitria) Douglas; Grandparents Francine Tardif, André Bérubé; Aunts Nancy Tardif and Joseé Bérubé; cousins Kyle Tardif, Joshua Carter, Emma Tardif, Garret Tardif and Danica Bérubé; his niece Nora. Extended Family includes Bob Ryckman, Maryanne Dacosta, Emma Holmes, Mabel Lloyd, Tammy McRobb, Stanley Ryckman, Danny Ryckman, Wendy Young, Angus Ryckman, David Ryckman.
Jacob is predeceased by Paternal Grandparents Doreen Ryckman and Stanley Ryckman; Aunt Kerri Lee Howey.
A viewing for Jacob will be held in the chapel at Affinity Funeral Service Unit #1 4105 41 Avenue, Whitecourt, Alberta, T7S 0A3 on Friday June 16th 2023 at 4:30 PM.
A Celebration of Jacob’s life will be held at the St. Joseph Parish Hall located at 5538 Mink Creek Road, Whitecourt, Alberta, T7S 1M9 on Thursday June 22nd 2023, at 2:00 PM.
If you so choose donations can be made to the Whitecourt Veterinary Clinic P.O Box 1769 2-4439 52 Avenue Whitecourt, Alberta, T7S 1P5 to support the animal shelter, which has always been near and dear to Jacob’s heart.
