Obituary of Lawrence William Nelson

Lawrence William Nelson December 1, 1950 – June 13, 2023 It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Lawrence Nelson on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at his home in Drayton Valley, Alberta, at the age of 72 years. Lawrence will forever be in the hearts of his sisters, Sylvia (Bob) Thompson, Fay (Lawrence) Zax, Linda Lang and Helen (Ray) Cartwright. Lawrence will also be cherished by the three children he played an active role in raising, Wayne (Christine) Kuyek, Troy Kuyek and Nicole Kuyek, along with grandchildren, Amy Oystryk, Curtis Oystryk and Kevin Kuyek and great grandchildren, Boston and Kinsley. Lawrence will also be remembered by numerous extended family and friends. Lawrence was predeceased by his parents, Fay Nelson and Jane Bereza; sister Joyce Nelson; niece Kim deBruin and two nephews, Cory Cartwright and Matthew Lang. Lawrence loved his work as a Truck Driver and not only took great pride in what he did but was also an incredibly loyal employee for those he worked for. Lawrence made deep connections with those in his closest circle of family and friends, and touched and changed their lives. Family and friends will forever cherish and be inspired by how Lawrence was always there for them with his constant support and the expression of his love through his actions. He will be greatly missed but always remembered. The family would like to share their deep appreciation for all the well wishes and condolences from extended family and the community. A celebration of Lawrence’s life will take place on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 1:00pm, at the Royal Canadian Legion #269, 5204 51 Ave, Drayton Valley, Alberta.
