Obituary of Helen Mary Valerie Loosmore

Helen Mary Valerie “Val” Loosmore (Maddocks) February 14, 1941 – June 27, 2023 It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Valerie Loosmore on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Center, Alberta, at the age of 82 years. Val will be remembered by her children, Henry, David (Simone) and Rebecca (Darren) and her brother, Bertie Maddocks, of England. Val was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Brian Loosmore, her parents, George and Mary Maddocks along with her brother Denys Maddocks. Val will always be remembered for the love she had for her farm way of life and her passion for all her animals. Val’s other great passion and joy in life was her church family, with whom she shared her journey of faith. There is comfort in knowing that the storms of Val’s life have now ceased and her faith is now sight. It is in this spirit, that the family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation made in Val’s name to Calvary Baptist Church, 4401 50 Avenue, Drayton Valley T7A 1H3. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Dr. and Mrs. Clive Gigg, Dr. and Mrs. David Belcher, Donna McQuaig, Tim and Holly Smith, and the Calvary Baptist Church for all their kindness, support and care during this difficult journey. A Service of Remembrance will take place at Calvary Baptist, 4001 50 Avenue, Drayton Valley, on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 1:00 pm. A burial will take place immediately following at Riverview Cemetery, with a luncheon back at the Baptist Church after the interment.
