Obituary of Kevin "Zeke" Murray Zelmer

Kevin 'Zeke" Murray Zelmer June 14, 1963 – July 15, 2023 It is with sorrowful hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Zelmer on Saturday, July 15, 2023 in the University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 60 years. Kevin will be remembered by his children, Reanne (Calvin), Cameron, Zackery and Zantelle, along with granddaughter, Caydence, who Kevin absolutely adored. Kevin is also survived by his parents, Marguerite Robinson and Kelvin Zelmer; his sisters Kelly, Rita and Rhonda; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kevin will also be greatly missed by his Lab-mix fur-baby, Maggie. Kevin was a man who was strong in his own convictions and saw things pretty much as black and white – and kindness mattered. He was known by his family as a free spirited, genuine guy who was there when others needed him. Kevin loved the outdoors, be it quadding, hunting or fishing or just taking in the serenity of a beautiful scene of nature. His greatest passion however was for his children and his mom, whom he loved deeply. The buttons popped off his shirt when he was around his granddaughter Caydence, because he was so absolutely proud to be her grandpa Kevin. A private graveside service for Kevin will take place at a later date. The family wishes to express their deep-felt gratitude to STARS and the staff at the University of Alberta Hospital Burn Unit, for their compassionate and caring service for Kevin. There is at least some comfort in knowing the storms of this life are now over for Kevin, and he is at peace.
