Dorrene Jeannette Handzuik
February 23, 1925 – July 17, 2023
It is with sorrow, yet a great sense of gratitude for the many, many years of wonderful memories that we announce the passing of Dorrene Handzuik at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre on Monday, July 17, 2023 at the age of 98 years.
Dorrene was born in Tomahawk, and remained in the Drayton Valley area. She and Carl raised five children and worked extremely hard on their farm. Following the passing of her husband, Dorrene became incredibly independent and found great joy in spending time with her family and friends.
Dorrene is lovingly remembered by her children, William (Katherine), Larry (Lorraine), Marie (Larry), Brian (Winnifred) and Alan; grandchildren, Christopher (Christine), Mark, Murray (Katey) and Stephanie (Brad); great-grandchild, Aislynn, as well as by her many friends and caregivers at Seasons Retirement Community, Drayton Valley.
Dorrene was predeceased by her husband, Carl and granddaughter, Jacqueline.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
For those who so desire, donations in honour of Dorrene may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice.
Condolences may be sent to www.affinityfuneralservice.ca
