Obituary of Karter John Richard Bourgeault

Karter John Richard Bourgeault September 26, 2016 – July 23, 2023 Karter finally won his battle with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) on Sunday, July 23, 2023 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the incredible love of his parents and family. Karter not only fought this battle with all his might, but also used his journey to teach so many people so many things. Karter helped spread the word about a cancer they claim is so rare. Karter was such an amazing child who always had a smile on his face, a song to sing, dance moves like no other and a heart of gold. Karter will truly be missed by so many, but his journey is not over – please keep telling his story and help find a cure for DIPG. Karter will forever be lovingly remembered by his parents, Nicole Fraser and Richard Bourgeault; his siblings (four-legged), Koal, Gazoo and Tula; grandparents, Lottie and Ben and Brenda and Rick; aunts and uncles, Kimberly (Mike) and Samantha (Frankie); cousins, Keanna, Mathew, Bryce, Fynnley, Hailey, Kimberly and John, as well as other extended family, his classmates, teachers and many friends. Karter was predeceased by his four-legged sibling, Paisley and his aunt, Ashley. Those wishing to pay their respects are invited to do so at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Parish, 13 Brower Drive, Sherwood Park, Alberta on Monday, July 31, 2023 at between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. with Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jim Corrigan, Celebrant. Please wear your Karter or Oiler’s gear. Karter‘s family would like to thank all of his Care Teams at U of A Hospital, as well as the team in New Jersey for all of the care and love he was given.
