Jack Christy Worden
January 25, 1945 – July 28, 2023
It is with sorrowful hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Worden on Friday, July 28, 2023 at home, with family by his side, at the age of 78 years.
Jack fought a long hard battle with cancer, and the family finds peace and comfort in knowing the storms of this life are over, and he is at rest in his next life.
Jack will be remembered by his children, Christine Goerz, Jack E. Worden (Tracey), and Shanna Torok (Jason). Jack’s living legacy will live on as well in the lives of his grandchildren, Christy Bobryk (Tyler), Chantel Pischke (Alex), Brent Goerz (Chantel), Justine Torok (Dan), Jayden Torok (Teagan), Kyle Worden (Katie) and Kaylie Worden (Andrew). Jack will also be remembered by his brother Derek Worden (Penny), 8 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members. The family wants to also express their gratitude for Jack’s special best friends, Mary Strocher, Randy and Marj Kuetbach and Jerry Shepel, who consistently called and supported Jack throughout this difficult journey.
Jack was predeceased by his wife Marilyn Worden, his parents, Jack R. and Christine Worden and son-in-law Kevin Goerz.
Jack was alive in his farming and his farming way of life meant everything to him. As a life long farmer, he learned that necessity is the mother of invention, and he became that guy who could fix just about anything. He was also that guy others would call when they needed a helping hand or a word of advice. Jack was always there for any who needed assistance no matter what he was doing or the time of day. As a man who paid attention to the details of farming, maintenance and life – he always had his way of doing things. As a mentor to his son, Jack Earl, his final words of wisdom were “I hope you were paying attention!” Jack will be forever missed but always celebrated in the hearts and homes of those who knew him.
The family will hold a private celebration of Jack’s life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jack’s name directly to the Cross Cancer Institute.
