Obituary of Merv Smith

Mervyn Roger Smith June 25, 1952 – August 27, 2023 It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Mervyn Smith on Sunday, August 27, 2023 surrounded by the love of family, at the age of 71 years. Merv had a strong work ethic, whether working as a consultant or working with cattle he put his all into everything he did. Merv was a dedicated family man to his children especially his grandchildren. Merv tried to make it to his grandchildren’s events, spoil them when he could and tractor rides all around. Merv was a man you could depend on to lend a helping hand, a man who taught you simple skills to live by. A man devoted to only one woman for a lifetime, together again they will be. Merv will forever be in the hearts of his children, Julie (Travis), Brian, and Scott (Deon); his beloved grandchildren, Taylor, Collin, Ryker, Jada, and Trey; brothers, Paul (Lillian), and Howard (Margaret); numerous family here and in England along with precious friends. He will be greatly missed but always remembered. Merv was predeceased by his loving wife of 44 years Ann, who are now reunited; parents, Mary and Arthur Smith. The family would like to express their thanks to the nursing staff at the Leduc Community Hospital for their exceptional care given to Merv during his stay.
