Obituary of Larry Edward McConnell

In Loving Memory of Larry Edward McConnell Larry Edward McConnell was born on September 17, 1942, in Belleville, Ontario, and peacefully passed away on October 9, 2023, in Whitecourt, Alberta, at the age of 81. Larry's life was a tapestry of achievements and passions. He took immense pride in his education, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Calgary. He held a permanent teaching certificate from Ontario and spent 10 years teaching in Ontario and in the Northwest Territories, including 4 years as the principal of the school in Fort Resolution. In 1981, he was admitted to the bar, following which he established his private law practice in Whitecourt, AB. Larry was not only a brilliant legal mind but also a dedicated personal pilot for approximately 20 years. Larry is survived by his loving daughter, Amanda Pauze, and son-in-law Nick Rawluk. He adored his two cherished grandchildren, Brooke Chernipeski and Everly Rawluk. Larry is also survived by his siblings Lenore, Lowell, Lynne, and Laurie. Larry's life was enriched by countless friends who were like family to him. Darlene and Jerry Chartrand, who were exceptional friends that selflessly cared for Larry during his final years. Eris and Julie Moncur, the most beautiful friends Larry had. He truly enjoyed their company and their unwavering support was immeasurable. Larry is predeceased by his beloved mother, June McConnell, whose love and influence shaped his remarkable journey. Beyond his family and professional accomplishments, Larry had a deep love for travel, enjoyed the camaraderie of watching football games, savored the occasional cigar, and found solace in spending time in his Sugar Shack. Larry Edward McConnell will be remembered not only for his intellectual prowess, but also for his warm and generous spirit. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
