Obituary of Robert Beno Freeson

Robert Beno Freeson November 21, 1933 – October 13, 2023 With heavy hearts, the family of Robert Freeson announce his passing on October 13, 2023, at his home in Breton, Alberta. Robert will always be remembered by his sons, Wade and Clayton, his grandson Michael and great grandchildren, Scarlet, Skyler, Charlie, Henry and Jonathan. Robert will also be held in the hearts and memories of his sister Nancy and numerous extended family and friends. Robert was predeceased by his wife of 29 years, Glada; his grandson Andrew and brother Donald. Robert grew up in the Logging Industry, and through this upbringing, developed an incredible work ethic. Wade and Clayton will remember him for his sense of humor and for being one of the strongest men they ever knew, both in body and character. Perhaps Robert’s greatest strength was displayed in his relationships with others, for he treated all people with fairness and equality. Robert’s passion for fishing and hunting and love for baseball and hockey will always be a part of the memories and stories of Robert’s life. Robert combined his passion for nature with his skills in photography, and he and Glada made many memories on the photography safaris they shared together. The family would like to thank the Drayton Valley Hospital ER staff for their kind care and attention in looking after Robert with his ongoing medical needs. In lieu of flowers, they would ask that you consider a donation in Robert’s name to the Kidney Foundation or any other charity of your choice. As per Robert’s wishes, no formal service will take place, but the family will hold a private time together at a later date. Robert will be greatly missed, but his light and life will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
