Obituary of Dana Scott Lindsey

Dana Scott Lindsey August 19, 1956 – October 30, 2023 The family of Dana Lindsey are saddened to announce his unexpected passing on Monday, October 30, 2023 at the Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre at the age of 67 years. Dana’s life will continue to be celebrated and remembered by his siblings, Terry (Gloria), Kelly, Corwin (Jacklyn) and Jennifer. Dana will also be in the hearts and memories of his nieces and nephews, Kelly Jr., Jacob, Michelle (Jim), Carrie, Justin, Frankie (Kylie), Steven (Kristen), Stephanie, Alex, Breanna, Tanner and Nolan, as well as numerous extended family and friends. Dana was predeceased by his parents, Barry and Hilda Lindsey and his sister, Brenda and nephew, Kaelin. Family will always remember Dana’s love for taking long walks, lots of reading, and in his later years, his passion to work in the garden, dabble with painting or building a puzzle. He greatly enjoyed his trips to Jasper where he was thrilled to simply take in the beauty of the mountains. However, Dana’s greatest passion was to watch his nieces and nephews and to take part in family gatherings and just enjoy the moments of being together. Cracking open a beer with his brother Kelly on Friday nights was also something Dana always looked forward to. It is these kinds of moments, be they big or small, that will continue to live on in the stories and memories of his family and friends. Dana will be missed but never forgotten. Those wishing to pay their respects, Viewing will be held at Affinity Funeral Service, 5001 45 Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta, on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Graveside Service at Riverview Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Dana was always a caring and kind person, and it is in this spirit that the family would ask, that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Dana’s name to the Palliative Care Suite Campaign, in care of the Drayton Valley Hospital Foundation, 4550 Madsen Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta, T7A 1N8.
