Obituary of Janice Annette Roy

Janice Annette Roy (Dahl) was born on May 16, 1952, in Edmonton, Alberta, to her loving parents Elsie and Vernon. After a courageous battle with a stroke/ALS, she passed away peacefully on November 1, 2023, at the age of 71 with her family by her side, in Whitecourt, Alberta. Janice is survived by her beloved mother Elsie and stepfather Barry Thorson, her devoted husband Raymond Roy, and her cherished children Tammy Roy, Wade and Terryn Roy, and Jeanette and Brad Yagelnesky. She was a loving grandmother to Shayla, Seth, Owin, Cheyenne, and Raymond, and a proud great-grandmother to Orianne, Jace, and Alice. Janice also leaves behind her dear siblings Donna and Bill Cassin, Phyllis and Joe Tilby, Doug Dahl, Derrick and Gwen Thorson, and Sheldon and Sherry Thorson. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Dahl. Janice had a passion for her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She found great joy in reading, baking, and gambling. Over the years, Janice was actively involved in slo-pitch, bowling, golf, card games, horseshoes, and bingo. The family would like to express their faithful heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff and doctors at both the Whitecourt and Grande Prairie Hospitals, as well as the home care workers, for the exceptional care provided to Janice during her time of need. In memory of Janice Annette Roy (Dahl), may her legacy of love and cherished memories bring comfort to all those who knew and loved her.
