Obituary of Brian Laurence Bourke

Brian Laurence Bourke October 21, 1962– October 23, 2023 It is with profound sadness that the family of Brian Laurence Bourke announce his sudden passing on Monday, October 23, 2023. Brian was a sports fan, a guy’s guy, he loved the Oilers and the Elks. This would be a big part of his phone calls with his son Joel. Brian was a hunter, a coin collector, and a man of faith. Brian adored his 3 grandchildren; his most treasured role was being a grandpa. A grandpa that got down on the floor to play, to bring sweet treats of Tim-bits and some toys was the highlight of his visits. Brian encouraged his children to be their very best, he was so proud of his son and daughter and all they have accomplished. Brian was family oriented, very kind, generous to others and was never judgmental. Brian had commented to his children, Joel and Jessica just days before, that he was so glad he was able to be with them at Joel’s wedding, a memory so cherished now. Brian is lovingly remembered by his children, Joel (Katie) and Jessica (Kevin); grandchildren, Connor, Bennett, Cecilia, and a grandson on the way; father, Laurence Bourke; siblings, Warren and Wanda (Ken); plus, numerous extended family. Brian was predeceased by mother, Alma Franzen and step-mother, Mary Bourke. For those who so desire, memorial donations in honour of Brian may be made directly to Jump Start for Kids. Brian’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the off-duty EMS who stopped to provide care and attention to Brian.
